Question
UK. Can credit card companies access your personal info without permission? I paid off my card in full and am?
out of debt completely but now am bombarded by every credit card company to take out a new card! They even arrive despite a postal strike. Thought the Data Protection Act would not allow that to happen.

You may at some point have supplied information and not made it clear that you do not want it to be used for marketing purposes etc. Contact the companies concerned, whether by phone, e-mail, letter and inform them to remove your details from all marketing databases under their control or use.

Companies buy copies of the Electoral Roll then target every one. Just keep binning them as I do.

Yes, these details will have been sold on by your credit company - you probably ticked a box allowing this at some time...join the mailing prefernce organisation and bin the letters.
