Question

Confused, Making payment on first Credit Card?

Alright, I do all my banking with Wells Fargo. A month ago I opened my first CC, and have been using it. I put the 28th of the month as my pay date, or whatever it is. Anyway yesterday I get an Email (28th) saying first payment 11/28/09 $25 (I spent $162, on my card). So I thought, "lets try to get good credit, I will just pay it now". So in the email it said if I would like to make a payment to go to "Account Activity", "Make a Payment". And after that I selected transfer money from another account and I selected Checking's. Then promptly transferred 163 a dollar more than amount owed. So I go back to my Account Overview to make sure everything is done, and my "Outstanding Balance" is still 162, but my credit line has increased by 163. What in the world, I thought it would fix itself today, but it hasn't. So did I pay correctly? What will happen to that extra dollar I transferred? And one more question; I paid for something with my CC and then returned it, now this time my money went to my "Outstanding Balance", but my credit line didn't go back up. So when does my credit line, reset and go to it's regular max. I thought this would happen every month.

It takes 2-3 days to be actually posted . As long you have some kind confirmation or receipt you should be fine . Any type of transaction again 2-3 days minimum to be posted and clear . or better yet go to Wells Fargo present them a check and will be processed faster next time around and will still take a day or two to be posted . remember keep all receipts or confirmations on hand

Since your available credit increased by $163 it would appear that the payment both processed and posted. You won't see it on the STATEMENT until the next billing statement is issued though. Look for a link for "unbilled activity" and it should show up there. Good luck, and thanks for using credit wisely!
