How can I get a CCJ removed?
One has been applied under my name as my flatmate wasn't paying the council tax we were both registered to pay. I was the only one that found but there had already been a CCJ issued. I was not aware of any of this but have paid the debt. My boyfriend and I are hoping to buy a house next year so I'm concerned about this bad credit rating. Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.

This would depend on how quickly you paid the CCJ. If you paid the order immediately it wont show. If you paid at a later date you need to contact the Register of County Court Judgements and ask they provide you with a notice that this has been satisfied. You may need to get a receipt from the Creditor. Your Credit Report will show you have satisfied the Debt but will remain on your Credit Report for 6 years. You can contact Equifax & Experian and ask they allow you to put a note on your file to why & how you got the CCJ etc.
