it will be very difficult indeed, I'm not sure of the prices around your area but a one bedroom flat in my area is £500+, then you would have council tax, water, gas, electric, food, phone, tv licence all on top, that's without any money for going out and clothes money. the only way I can think of is if you had four people in the same position as you then you could rent a house then split everything four ways, even then it would be tight.

Well in the US you cant sign any type of contract until you are 18. Not sure about other countries.

yes you can. look in your local paper it should have rented accomodation in it. most landlords want references tho, as you have only lived with your parents you'l need to get them to write a letter to the landlord saying you can afford it and show him your payslips from your job. you could get help with paying for it though, try and apply for housing benefit, council tax benefit. also i dont think you can afford to live off of that a month for a 1 bed flat you'd be looking at 250-300 per month plus you have council tax and tv licence on top of that/ and your gas and electric bills and food?? really think about it, is there no way u can stay at home till you save up money? you dont wanna end up in a homeless shelter like i did or a bed n breakfast.. full o druggies. what i did was phoned the council and told them i was homeless cause my mum chucked me out, they came out to the house interviewed me and my mum and i got a house within a fortnight.. the rent isnt bad either with council about 160 per month, better than private let! good luck id be phonin the council!

£500 a month is not enough. Why do you have to move out? Your brother moved out first.

That is not really enough income to be setting up home. You will also find it difficult to get a lease as you cannot legally sign a contract until you are 18. There are not many landlords who would take the risk of a 17 year old.

I can't imagine you can live on your own for only 500 a month - what about food, utilities, transportation costs, TV, internet, phone, healthcare, etc
