Does having outstanding fines at your video store affect your credit rating in Australia?

It would probably depend on how much you owe. It costs money to lodge a default, but many companies will do this for sums as little as $10.00 owed to them. (Think Telstra and Optus) Do you have a copy of what you signed when you joined up? They have your D/L as ID too I suppose? Its best to sort now, otherwise you may get an unpleasant surprise one day when you want a loan etc, or even try and sign up for HP etc.

lol. maybe if they check up on it. coz if you cant do something as simple as returning a video, then why would banks trust you do pay them back =/ yeah im not sure myself.
