Just getting into blogging and wondering if I can earn money just off people visiting my site if I have ads up?
or do they actually have to visit my site AND click on the ads for me to make any money? I know that it depends on the ads and that some pay very small amounts of money for impressions, but is there a way to make good money just off page visits? Any expert bloggers on here?

You can use some affiliate program. Ads system will give you money, but it is a small amount each click. You can boost your revenue by using some affiliate program, you can promote their program, and earn cash if someone register to their site, or buy stuff, or doing some survey. The most affiliate I love is survey, I earn cash for each survey I have done, and I earn more money if someone register from my website or blog, and earn more everytime they doing the survey too. Advertising programs can pay for either cost-per-click (so each time someone clicks through) or per 1000 impressions (so for every 1000 page views of the ad). It depends, but Google Adsense for example is much more focused on CPC.

Sure it is definately possible. Try to make your blog something you have passion about and visit other blogs, forums, hubs etc to promote your blog to build up the traffic. After some time and some work you will start to see traffic and the more traffic the more possible money is there to be made. Good Luck!

Hey robert, in order to get money without clicks from ads you have to have a lot of what we call "impressions" that means that when people visit the blog, your ads are displayed. However, the amount of impressions you need in order to generate a lot of income or money from blogging is HUGE. So, I would first just start with creating lots of great content and then trying to get as much traffic, or visitors as possible to your websites. The more visitors you have, ideally, the more clicks and ad impressions you have. I would say that making money from ad impressions alone is a very difficult thing to do. But you can increase revenue by increasing traffic to your website.
