Question
Can I deduct my moving expenses?
I moved from SoCal to Oregon in May of this year. In connection with this move, I transferred my job within the same company. Can I deduct the money I paid the moving company from this years' taxes? My friend said I could but I haven't really looked into it yet. If I can, are there any requirements other than millage between jobs?

Yes you can. Go to the IRS website and look for form 3903. While you are there i.e., on the IRS website, look for instructions in filling out this form.

See the form and the IRS publication 521. You must meet the distance test, the time at new location test and move because of a job.
