Question

Consequences of credit card fraud- if they were caught the first time?

someone from the other side of the country tried to use my credit card number to buy tickets for concert. This was the first time they attempted, and they were caught. Will anything be done? I'm glad they this was the FIRST time and they got caught..but still, i want those bitches to pay!!! lolll..i just HATE thieves!! (not literally pay...just some sort of consequence). any ideas guys? I live in Canada if it depends on the country..thanks :) when I said they're first time I meant on MY card, I asked the woman at the bank and she told me what my last purchase was using the card- surely, it was my purchase..:) so their attempt was decline I didn't ask if they found them, but I would assume so- they wanted to purchase tickets online, so that would require an address.

Well call the local police and see if you can press charges. If you want something done then you'll have to press charges. Did they actually find the person(s) who tried to use your credit card number?

How do you know that it was their 1st time? The cops do not tell you that info..The first time for your card perhaps? They may pros at this! Since it never happened, they were foiled, nothing will probably happen to them. Perhaps slapped on the hands for attempted ID theft!! The credit card companies do not really give a rats*** for petty theft
