Financial planning
Question
Why is Northern Rock splitting into two banks, good and bad bank?
Announce that EU regulators have approve the splitting of NR. Appointed a veteran UBS banker to head the UK Financial Investments. Northern Rock said on Wednesday that 90% of mortgage including the unit would be fully performing and are not in arrears. On the sideline. Why is Lloyds Banking Group's plan to sell rights issue had not been approval by the FSA. Why is that the FSA wants to get involved with the day to day running of all British banks. Yes, "To think that they are the earth and the sun".I would think also they lack creditability and the "rain in Spain will always stay in the plains". They think that if they do things with taxpayers' money, the people will always be obligated to them. Banks must get their help because all bankers good or bad are pariahs and without their help or guidance, they cannot survive. The people should wake up. Vote with their brains and not with their emotions.

It is very difficult to discover exactly 'why' any Government decision is made (or not made). The reason why it is so hard is because Government decisions are based on "Politics" and have nothing to do with 'sense' (common, or otherwise) .. in fact, the 'sensible' choice is the LAST thing the Government can be expected to do .. MOST Government decisions (after the first) are made to cover up their own incompetence ... Here's a "classic" example :- a poorly performing car Manufacturing Company is about to go bust, mainly because the 4 individuals the Government permitted to run the Company have been too busy lining their own pockets to actually rescue the business. What do they do ? allow the Company go bust and let the bankruptcy court prosecute the criminals ???? or pump in a few more millions of Taxpayers money in (at least until after the elections are over), then let the company go bust and hope no-one notices ? After the Conmpnay goes bust, there is a public outcry .. what do you do ? allow the Police to gather evidence and prosecute the criminals in a court of law ? or announce a Public Inquiry and hope that after they a good few years (and a good few million of Taxpayers money) everyone will have forgotten about it ?? the puiblic refuse to forget ? what do you do ? allow the Inquiry to condemn the criminals for stealing and squandering Taxpayers money ? or ensuring that the Inquiry report is a total 'white-wash' ???
