Wow. Idid create a mess. But don't worry, it can be fixed. Let's start with the child support. I do not know if that is on your credit report. If it is, when you pay it off, you will have to dispute it with the 3 credit bureaus as "not mine" . Do not ask them to update it as paid, that will lower your score. Second, if you are on ChexSystems for the 4 checking accounts, I wouldn't bother paying them. You can go to US Bank or Wells Fargo Bank or Wescom Credit Union and possibly others and ask for a second chance checking account. If they ask if the other accounts are paid, just say I am not sure. Third, the wireless accounts, if they are past the statue of limitations in your state, you do not owe the money any more. Go to www ... to see what your state statue is. Depending on if they have been charged off and gone to collection, you can usually fight it. Most collection agencies will say and do what ever it takes to collect, including lying. You may not even owe the money anymore if it is past that statute. Each state has a statute of limitations. Go to www ... to see what your time frame is. If it has been charged off then the collection company does not have any legal rights to collect the debt if they do not have the "original" wet ink contract signed you you that created the debt. You can send them a "certified" demand letter for a recently notarized, certified copy of the "original" wet ink contract that created the debt. Also, state in the letter that you were mistaken and do not believe that you owe this debt and that you demand that they remove any negative items off you credit or that you will have to seek legal action ( by law they have 30 days to respond and a 15 day grace period to get that to you). Also, state in that letter that you are demanding that this is a "Cease and Desist Order" and that they are not to contact you by phone at your home, cell, place of work or contact any of you relatives friends or co-workers and to only contact you by mail. Make sure their account or file number is in the letter along with the account number and name of the original creditor. Most companies will not take it to court if it is under $2500. You can continue to dispute all you derogatory items on your credit each month until they fall off. Sometime it could take up to 6 mo. Now, in order to build credit, do not waste you money on a prepaid credit card. That is an insane waste of money. Once you save up about $500 and after you get a check and savings account, you can ask to open a line of credit using your $500 savings account as collateral. That will report you your credit and they do not need to check you credit because it is secured. It is like a prepaid account but not the crazy insane interest rate and ridiculous fees of a credit card and you can usually access it from you debit card. Just keep paying them off.

Do not take a loan out at the place your first answer is telling you too. No-one with bad credit gets a loan like that with such a low interest rate. It's some kind of scam.Look in your phone book for a reputable credit counselor. They will tell you how to get your finances under control.

Actually you are already taking the proper steps in correcting your mistakes. The most crucial one is the child support back pay, because if left unpaid it could become a felony. If you have not done so yet, try calling the companies you owe money to and setup some type of payment plan. It may take some time to clean up your credit report, but the most important thing is focusing on getting out of debt.
