Renting a place with BF?
I'm about 19years old going to be 20 in March and my bf will be 21 in March as well. We are considering moving in our own place together in a year or two (by that time we would have been together for 3+ years) So i'm trying to figure out how much everything will cost. Is this accurate? He is a game player so the electric bill is high. I live in Aurora, Illinois and we are hoping to stay in area witihin at most 15minutes away ((My car will already be paid off for)) Rent= $1,000 Electric/Air Conditioning= $150 Water/Waste Water= $100 Heat= $150 Garbage Stickers($20 a week)= $80 Cable= $40 Internet=$50 Cell phone bill(2 phones)= $130 Gas(1car)($50 per week)=$200 Food($150 per week)= $600 Emergancy money= $140 Car Emergancy= $150 Entertainment(going out, games,etc)= $200 Extra( Shampoo, Toothbrushes, Laundry detergent)=$100 Clothes($50 per month/per person)= $100 Health Insurance= $300 Car Insurance= $250 Holidays/Gifts/Extras= $50 Total ESTIMATE= About $4,000 per month / A.K.A. $1,000 per week

You list is pretty accurate.....for today's economy and cost of living. The exception being as follows: Alot of landlords pay for water.sewer and garbage....so that could save you money. You could also see about combining your cell phones...2 phones on one bill. This way you 2 can get a better rate plan. (we did this...we have cell 2 phones.....but my roommate added me to his account and qualified for the 'family plan' even tho we are not related.....we had the same minutes are before...all that changed was the plan for individual to family.....our cell phonee went from $110 to $65 a month. I aso think your internet and cable are kinda low....unless you have dial up and basic cable. We have comcast high speed internet, universal phone service and HD cable with over 150 channels....for all 3 of them combined...we pay about $175 a month. The best advice I can give you is for BOTH of your names to be on the lease. And both of you have a written agreement between yourselves....(who pays what and how much each one pays) signed and dated by both of you....in front of a notory or at least 2 witnesses. This protects BOTH of you from unforseen events. Dont count on the fact that you are bf/gf and have been together x # of years to protect you...love and everything is great....but ya never know when one or both of you might want a change.

you should estimate a little more for electricity, cable, internet, cell phone, gas, and entertainment, car insurance, and almost everything else. Everything is going up up up. You don't have much for incidentals, car repairs, are you on the pill? the pill is not covered by insurance and will run you 30-40 bucks a month. My advice if you are living at home with your parents, stay there, stay as long as you get get a college degree, go for your masters in something you like. You will need it to find a partly decent job. Hopefully it will be in something you enjoy because at this age it won't be for the money.
