Can't use my visa debit card on atm in bali, asia...it says there is a restriction on the card....?
and cannot get any money out, iv used the card in australia and europe and its been fine...its with abbey national...does anyone know why this is..i will ring the bank tomorrow..has anyone had this problem before with any bank/card/country?? Thank you

did you inform your bank that you were traveling? they might think the card was stolen and thats why the card is blocck you didnt inform the bank that you would be traveling so they will assume its stolen until they hear from you

When we moved to Canada but were still using our British HSBC account they kept blocking my card after I used it because they thought it was fraudulent. All I had to do was ring them and confirm that it was me in Canada using the card.

Yea, you are right. You have to call your bank. You should have told them where you were going before you used it. You'll have to call them to tell them you are now in Bali and need your card authorized.

Your bank blocked the card fearing fraud, call them let them know where you are and for how long you will be there and when you will be back home. they will fix it for you.
