unknown transactions made by ebay and i need help!?

i recently tried to verify my account but it didnt work so i did it multiple times but it didnt work so i gave up and make another account and it worked. then i checked my bank account and ebay took out $1 13 times... and the info is for it was "$1.00 pending items are often authorizations for gasoline purchases where the "Pay at the Pump" feature was used. $1.00 authorizations may also be requested by some other merchants to verify that your account is open. Remember to reduce your available balance by the amount you actually purchased." can anyone tell me what is is... thank you my account wasnt linked to paypal at the time and i couldnt verify it (everytime i put in my info it would just take me to a blank screen) so i made a new one
