Question
If we move from USA to Australia, will we have to rebuild our credit rating or will we have our same credit?
We are under the impression that people that move here to the USA from other countries have a "clean slate", and have to build up their credit. We were wondering if other countries, like Australia, do the same. We have worked very hard to obtain our good credit rating and would love if we can start where we left off. We own a great small business and would like to relocate and expand but would need a small business loan.

You get a clean credit slate when you move to a foreign nation. FYI: Immigrating to preferred places like Australia or Canada is more difficult than you probably think. Unless you are being sponsored by a company for the move, then immigration can be challenging. Nation's like these don't allow boatloads of poor people like they did during the 19th century. If you are young, healthy and bring in some money to start a business that will employ citizens of the nation, then you'd get preferred status to emigrate. They don't want people without money who would be a drain on their social services.
