Question
Do I have to give my Landlord a 30 day notice?
Ok so... We have been living here for well over a year. We have had some serious problems with our landlord... Like her coming in our apartment with out or knowledge of it, a couple times, She is EXTREMELY bossy. Like if our curtains are just a tad bit messed up, we will get yelled at... It is just terrible here. The reason we have not moved out is because money... Well we found this new apartment, and we are hoping to move in as soon as we get the money (my grandpa is helping us out) which is in a few days... and we are also waiting until we know for sure that we got the place... Once we know that is when we are going to tell her.... Basically what i am wondering... If it DOES NOT state in the lease that we are to give her a 30 day notice, do we have to??? And most importantly, Can she charge us another months rent??? I want to be OUT OF HERE once i get the money for the deposit for the other apt.

If your lease is silent on what type of notice is require...then you need to check your state laws. All states require that you give some type of notice. Failure to give proper notice will result in you getting charged extra...plus losing your deposit.
