Question
Removing foreclosure from my credit...?
I lost my house approximately 2 years ago due to some bad circumstances. However, I reached out to a credit repair company that says that they can help rebuild your credit. The company explained to me that they can remove foreclosures from my credit report because foreclosures can only be placed on your credit report only after it has passed so many laws. I am wondering if anyone has any insight about this...I don't want to waste my money if this is pretty much a scam. Thanks for all courteous answers...

It's a scam - this will be on your credit for 7, maybe 10 years but it is not the end of the world. With the economy now and all of the foreclosures taking place, lenders are more lenient and understanding. Just be careful going forward and keep your future credit clean. Good luck.

The only thing they can remove for sure is money from your wallet. No firm has the power to remove foreclosures. Foreclosures stay on your credit report for 7 years...so you have 5 more to go. Only the passing of time will get this off your credit report....sorry.

The only way it can be removed from your credit report is if the lending institution agrees to remove it. That is not likely to happen. all the credit repair company can do is write a letter asking them to remove it.You can do that for the price of a stamped envolpe. Don't waste your money buy a stamp.
