Question

Help!!! I have no idea what I'm doing?

I need help! I've started an experiential marketing agency which I run from my home office. I don't have the money to hire a web designer right now so I'm doing to myself. What can I put on a basic minimal website to start to establish a web presence? Maybe an example website or an article you know of can help me? I've purchased the domain and hosting from godaddy.com which comes with a basic site builder. I'm thinking Home page: Company name and a brief "elevator pitch" statement of what we do Contact page: Contact info Links: articles on marketing, etc. which i can update regularly to hopefully keep potential clients coming back. Should I have an about me page? Would that make my company appear too small potatoes? Ugh! Help!

Search Engine Optimization (SEO), for starters… The tools available through sites like GoDaddy definitively ease the burden for beginners developing their own website without the need for costly professional help. But even if you design the site with compelling information and content you still must take additional steps to DRIVE TRAFFIC to your site. Otherwise it could sit in cyberspace, alone. Among many tactics to get people to actually FIND your site I recommend at least learning the basics about how search engines work and why some sites rise to the top will others fall. Having your own specialized niche, or specialty website, that is keyword optimized will go a long way in getting you there. You will also want to find ways to promote your site by backlinking it with other websites related to your industry or special area of interest. You can do this by publishing articles, blogs, posting in forums that already have and established web presence. There will be some legwork involved, and some learning, but people are doing this every day and there is no reason you cannot. Just don’t fall for ‘get rich quick’ promises. It’s possible but most things take some time and effort. If you’d like to know more about SEO, keyword optimization , backlinking, and many other methods for getting your site noticed I highly recommend the one stop shop in the resource box below. There is a ton of information here for beginners looking to get started with the basic steps and for advanced methods for those with more experience. Good Luck
