Question
Has anyone else made a LOSS on Ebay as a seller? grrrrrrrr?
Hi - Am I the only one FED UP with Ebay???? All I heard about were the SUCCESS stories of people making tons of money on there and how some people are making more on there than being in actual employment etc BUT I was just trying to make ''pocket money'' to live on ... And it has been A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE Not JUST Ebays fault - I must admit - the Post Office ( uk ) have been TERRIBLE too with the postal delays causing disputes plus my Feedback score going down so Ebay won't even now release my Paypal funds MANY ITEMS went missing in the post - even recorded delivery items DIDN'T REACH THE OTHER END I have LOST OUT on so much money on there as once the item is sold Ebay take their fees still even if the item is refunded for It is around 10 per cent they take as a ''final value fee'' So by the time I paid my Ebay Fees etc and postal costs and missing out on undelivered goods - I was @ a LOSS and def did NOT MAKE MONEY on darn Ebay!!! The ONLY people who got rich OFF ME were the Post Office , Ebay and Paypal - They're laughing - But I am definitely NOT! Please let me know if you ar anyone you know has had a BAD experience selling on Ebay - Espeacially @ a loss Coz all I heard about before were the SUCCESS stories - Not the DARK / bad side!!!!!!!! Thanks

Yes I hope they go down or a rival emerges to take them on. I had MY money witheld by Paypal because the buyer lied and said they never received it, I also had my money withdrawn by them to pay someone ripped off by someone who had just bought something from me...so they withdrew the money from all his last transactions....including my a/c, to pay the guy they ripped off. So it's Paypal I am most angry with but eBay is their no 1 partner.

Yeah, you are certainly not the first to make a loss on ebay, and there is a growing number of people becoming wise to the fact that ebay actually charge you 3 TIMES (once to list your items, a 10% cut of the final value, and paypal - who incidently are owned by ebay, take 3% + 20pence). ebay are now doing away with the P&P charges, so you have to offer items with FREE P&P, they say to give buyers "choice", but choice and profit is something they don't want Sellers to have.. It's about time ebay realised their customers are the 'Sellers' not the 'Buyers', and stopped screwing us

Ebay is the worst, especially now, they do not take care of thier sellers. too many fees and then on top of that more fees with paypal. paypal are holding money through ebay for almost 10 days if you sell on ebay. i stopped selling on there along time ago. best thing to do build your own website, i rather pay to advertise then pay the same amount for fees. if you a site let me know. I can build them. rizvibiz at aol.com

It's quite possible to make money on ebay .. Just make sure you set appropriate start price ./ reserve price / buy-it-now price to cover all the costs .. There are millions of dumb buyers out there who will pay well over the odds for stuff == just so long as you are not going head to head with drop-shippers and importers for 'commodity' items ... Before you even think of listing you should do a search for the same item == if you get a hundred 'buy-it-now' hits from dozens of 'Hong Kong' (i.e. China) sellers, forget it .. if you find a couple of private auctions, then your item has potential ..
