Question
Trying to rent an apartment in Atlanta with a criminal history (felony)?
I am 28 years old and have a very good job (even though I have a felony on my record that is four years old). I am transferring to ATLANTA, GA in December and trying to find an apartment. I have good credit and I can probably give 3 to 4 months of rent upfront if needed. How do I find an apartment complex that will rent to me?

You just need to apply for the right ones. it should be obvious which neighborhoods the criminals live in.

Wow, tough one! I would get a listing of all apartment rental place and and just go down the list explaining the situation and see which one bites before spending fees to see if you can rent. I would also try private landlords. Good luck, this i am sure is going to be easier said than done.

most landlords, private or not do not want felons in their property, especially if there are multiple units. Few people would welcome you as a neighbor. Felons all tend to live in the same neighborhoods, you should not have a problem finding housing in the ghetto areas. In fact in all likelihood your landlord will be a felon as well.

This is going to be VERY hard in any area. Most landlords will not rent to anyone with any kind of criminal record.
