Question
Item never arrived from Tesco direct?
It's been 2 weeks since they said the item was sent out,i have questioned them and after about 5 emails they have said they will send a form out that informs royal mail that the item did not arrive. This seems to be a long way round just to get a refund, they should refund me and not wait until royal mail refund them which could take a few more weeks, what are my rights? thanks.

Only the sender of mail can initiate a complaint against Royal Mail - This makes sense because it is the sender who is their customer, the ones who pay Royal Mail to carry out a service. Its up to the sender in question to deal with you, so in short, there's not much you can do. In my personal opinion and experience Tesco is a nasty money grabbing company, who don't give a hoot for their customers. Amazon are much better - if something gets lost in the post, they refund you before they have even initiated the claim and recoup that from the Post Office at a later date.

I would think you'd be better off chasing royal mail rather than tesco. Have you tried going to your local sorting office?

Not forgetting that Royal Mail workers are striking and have been on and off for the past few weeks are you? That and the "normal" delivery time for items is 28 days.

Doesn't help you but it is an example of another problem the post office and unions should be worried about - lost mail. I now use UPS for my heavier eBay items. Cheaper than the PO, faster, trackable and signed for record! Going on strike will mean the PO lose even more work!

unless the item was for next day delivery it says u can wait up to 28 days for your item , especially if it is coming direct from a manufacturer. royal mail doesnt usually deliver tesco direct items its couriers, where i live it is delivered by Home delivery network. you should have a order reference number and a tracking number from when the item was despatched, use these. Ring tesco again and demand answers, if u dont hear what u want to, ask to speak to a manager.
