Question
is it possible to own dozens of different businesses?
like owning a record label, film studio, animation studio, ice cream store, coffee shop, publishing company, robotics lab, cell phone company, laptop company, televisions channels, computer company, hair care products, skin products, etc. would i get overwhelmed?

Well everyone else is spam-answering, so here's some stuff. Sure, but you don't need to. You can do all of those things as one business. Let's say that you incorporate one business to be the BIG company. Then you can do each of those other things as a separate unit of the main business. Now if you want each business unit to have it's own name, you can still do that while maintaining a single business entity that owns everything. What you do is file a DBA, or Doing Business As. Some states call it a fictitious name, a trade name, or an assumed name. Basically, it allows you to do business under a name other than the company name. So Big Time Productions could have a robotics lab operating as Big Time Robotics. The link I've included explains DBAs a bit better. Don't worry about getting overwhelmed. Most big companies that diversify like this don't start by doing everything... they start with one thing and branch out as their business needs demand it. Good luck!
