Question

Can someone do electrical work on rental property without a license.?

I rent a newly renovated home. The owner of the home does all the repairs himself. He has wired in several electric outlets, a hot water heater, built in oven, dishwasher, microwave, and hot water dispenser . The problem is he does not have a license of any kind electrical or construction, nor has any of his work been inspected. Now heres the kicker there isn't even a smoke detector in the home..What are the laws in Texas and what should I do..

Well really, your only valid issue is with the smoke detector. Every state requires all homes to have smoke detectors. With the electrical, not much you can do. what electrical is there with a microwave? you plug it into an outlet. Same with a dishwasher.
