is there a time limit on filing a suit in small clams court?, & how does it work?.?
i bought a car from my cousins friend. it took me several months to pay for. i took the car back to the guy because it as leaking oil. he then informed me i needed a new engine. while the car was at his shop it was vandalized beyond repair. is he lible?.

in CA, 1 year SOL, if you signed some paperwork for the repair, could argue it was a contract, then a 3 or 4 year SOL (statute of limitations) And if you go to small claims, the whole cousins friend part is a waste. Could have bought it from Ed McMahon, it does not matter. Be to the point.
