Question

New to the bussiness world. At what point do I start chargeing sales tax? I have a handyman/construction.?

I have been doing side jobs for years but now I am stating go main stream. I have always claimed my income to the IRS but now at this point when if any do I start charging sales tax? I was living in California and now live in El Paso Texas if that makes any difference. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Typically sales tax is collected on tangible items that you sell. Usually sales tax is not required for service work.

Contact the State Treasurer's Office. Make sure your business needs to collect and report sales tax.
