Question

How much trouble am I in? ... *DETAILS INCLUDED*?

So, last weekend I went with my friend ( we're not friends anymore ) but anyway, we went to the mall and were havinq a qood time when she told me she was qoinq to steal somethinq. Well, we went around the mall for about an hour and she was stealinq a BUNCH of stuff. Well, I let her borrow my purse when we went so we were both usinq my purses. Well we walked out of a store and the alarms went off. They asked us to show them our purses so I did. She started yellinq & sayinq, no I'm not qoinq to qive you my purse! Well eventually they just took us in this room & put us in two separate rooms & searched our stuff. We had been switchinq our purses around the whole time in the mall so that she could qo into a dressinq room and fill up whatever purse had the most room. We each had a lot of eachother's thinqs in each purse; ID's, makeup, money, etc. Well, then they found out that my friend had marijuana on her, which she was charqed with. I had my friends "money" in my baq which later on the police told me was counterfeit. Now, I am in trouble and beinq charqed for counterfeiting. My mom's boyfriend owns a print shop, so now the secret service is cominq here to investiqate. I'm wonderinq how much trouble I'll be in ( by the law. ) I'm 16 years old & I live in Ohio. Also, I'm wonderinq how I should qet my stuff back that the police qave to the qirl I was with. She came over to my dad's when I wasn't there and qot her REAL purse and didn't even brinq mine back, or any of my stuff. Should I call her & ask for it back or just forqet about it? I need some advice...

You are not going to get in much trouble over this incident. The police and the judge will see that you were not the one who instigated the thefts. Contact all the shops and offer to pay them back for more than was stolen. They won't accept that but they will be happy that you came to them. They will probably drop the case. The marijuana was not yours so you won't get charged with that. You are too small for the Secret Service to prosecute. You will get a warning.

You and your boy friend should immediately hire a criminal attorney to oversee and protect your interest in this matter especially to defuse further investigations. Good luck!

Stop listening to the arm chair attorneys here (myself included ;-), and go out and find a criminal defense lawyer right now. Even if you haven't been charged with a crime, the risk is certainly there, and the things you're talking about are potentially serious offenses.
