Question

Do startup companies actually exist that "run themselves?"?

I keep reading different articles in entrepreneur blogs, mags, etc. that talk about creating a company that virtually "runs itself" to the point where you don't have to do much managing, except "rake in the cash." Does such a company actually exist, where the owner doesn't do much, if anything to run it? What company?

There is nothing as a company/website that "run themselves". While it is true that you can automate a lot of work ie. inventory, sales, checkouts, but there are still some work involve in your part. You may have heard of a "turnkey" website. You could buy these website for cheap. They're automated and ready to make you money. Yet, there is a little catch- you need people to come to you site. And that's the hardest part of the business. Imagine you opening a brick and mortar store in the middle of the desert. It's well-built, well stock, you paid someone to run the shop, all you do is sit home and count the dough. The problem is there are no traffics. And that, my friend, is your biggest problem. Don't fall into those traps. While I can't consider people who want to sell you those "run themselves" business scammers, they're pretty darn bother line close.
