Are you sure that it was your bank that called (do you have caller ID)? Someone used one of my card numbers, but I do not know if it was accidental or intentional. Since I was out of town, the bank could not call me, so the first I learned of it was a letter when I returned from vacation asking me to call the bank. But the person used the wrong name, so those charges were immediately reversed by the merchant, who flagged the bank, and the bank blocked an attempted purchase by someone at an on-line travel agency. The only charge I had to dispute was a $205 charge at a drugstore posted while I was out of town with the card, and that charge was dropped. But then when I thought they were calling me about the replacement card, I did not realize that was an additional card for a new account, and I got the replacement card with new number too.
