Question

What can I do to help bring business to my restaurant?

I have recently accepted a job in public relations for a local Tex-Mex restaurant. The food they serve is quite good and fresh. However, I'm having difficulty getting patrons during lunch. Our prices are very low for freshly cooked food. We are in a smaller town, but have a few fairly good sized businesses. I would like to make a deal with some of the employees from these companies, but I'm not sure what's appropriate. Do you have any suggestions?

I would start by getting in touch with the HR Director at the businesses and offering a discount or incentive of some sort to all their employees. In most companies the HR Department would be the ones to post the coupons on the company's bulleting board or email the menu around to the staff or something like that. I would make sure you have something to offer to make a "benefit" for the employees, like 10% off the bill with a company ID, or something like that. Otherwise they won't likely be interested. Good Luck.
