First Time Homebuyer HELP!!?

Hi I am a first time home buyer. I went to the HUD website and was a little overwhelmed with the info. Does anyone know wher i can go in my local community to get grant applications or talk to someone who knows what ones I should apply to? The closest I see on the website when i type in my area id PHILI 3hours away Exactly what help is out there besides the 8thous tax credit is there still down payment/closing cost assistance or is that no longer in existance I went to a class yesterday but they wanted 2000 to help u fill out grant paper work!! CRAZY THANKS SOOO MUCH

i do believe that the closing cost is paid after you are done with everything else but the others im not sure about chamber of commerce in your area helps people with homes and habitat for humanity also

You should not have to pay any money to help get yourself grant. Many city housing authorities can lead you in the right direction. They will give you a list of approved lenders who should take care of you.

So, you are not a home buyer. Not yet. Wait a bit. Prices do go down. make a search for other option. never be locked on one option or one way to do it. Get a friend who got less anxiety from paper work.

Talk to a realtor. This is what they get paid for, and the buyer does not pay the realtor. They can guide you through the entire process.
