u s postal service tampering?
If you put a letter in the mail box can you ask for it back? or is it now the custody of the post office to deliver to the intended recipient? Thanks

As soon as you place any piece of mail inside a mailbox it becomes the property of the US Mail until the instant that it is delivered to the recipient.It is just the same in the UK.
