How to start a home based web designing company? What it needs ,How much will be the starting expense?
Hello everybody ,I want to start home based web designing business of my own and learning web designing right now. I have just started learning web designing .Can any one tell me how long it will take to start the business and gaining enough skills that are necessary to open the business? And how much will be the cost of starting it including everything like important soft-wares ? I just have a laptop and internet connection.What I need more and Can you ,please , suggest some good tools(prefer free tools).How should I start it?

It appears that you have never been in business before, therefore, I would strongly recommend that you talk to a business counselor before you do anything especially spend money. You have to determine whether you'll start a web only based business or one with a store front. I'd call the local office of SCORE (go to the link below and input your zip code to find the chapter nearest you), the advice is FREE. The counselor at SCORE will most likely advise you to write a business plan which is very good advice because it will force you to dig out all of the start up details and the costs of starting this small business and force you to also understand all of the aspects of this business including the customers you'll concentrate on (your market) and how you'll go after them. You'll need to register the business with your state controller's office and make sure that you check to see whether any city and county licenses are needed where you live. All of this will come out in a business plan. Try linking to YCHANGE International and read some of the articles especially the ones about a business plan and starting a business.

well it would be really hard to find free software but i can give you a pretty good estimate of how much it will cost alot lol if u want to start a buissnes u should talk to someone that has the same training and ak them and talk to them about it on the software part i am sad to say i have no idea ! lol

Okay, all great questions. I don't know about web design, but I do know that you'll need to understand the basics of starting and running your own business. I'd get some books from the library about accounting, tax law, how to incorporate in your state, etc. I know that www.meditec.com sells for around $40, I think, a great book called the Home Biz book that is packed w/ great info about starting your own home biz. However, the library would have some good books. Also, the Dummies and Idiot's books are always very good, in my opinion.
