Question

filing a 1040 for Limited Liability Companies?

If I recently started a record label as LLC and haven't made any profit what so ever, do I still need to file taxes with the 1040? Thanks!

If all you did was start the LLC as a single member, you would have reported the income and expenses on schedule C.

An LLC does not file a 1040, individuals do. You must file an information return. See a professional for guidance.

why would you have formed an LLC if you want to file on your personal taxes? an LLC can be treated as a partnership or a corp however, if the LLC is not to your benefit and I am totally lost as to how it could, file as Sch C, sole proprietor and take steps to kill the LLC I don't know what state you are in but in Calif. regardless of how much you make(or lose) you will pay a minimum of $800 a year and if you fail to pay it it gets a penalty and interest for every year you fail to do so
