Management consulting firm
Question
Market Research or management consulting?
I have a pharmaceutical R&D background with MPH degree. Upon graduation, I spent about a year doing consulting but was laid off due to the bad economy. Now I finally have an offer from a market research firm as a pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement consultant. At the same time, another consulting firm is interested in giving me a full-time position as a healthcare consultant. I am at the point where I need a job stability. I really love consulting, but after the lay-off, I am very cynical about it. However, market research is something I have never done..so I am afraid that I might find it very boring. I heard that market research is alot of interviewing, surveys, and writing reports, but not so much about client interaction and working on variety of issues and peoples. I love solving people's problems, conducting research, and mentor/train others. I also love to learn new things, think big and at high level. I also want job stability. work/life balance. Need advice on which career path is better for me.

I would look at job stability on a scale of 1 to 10 rate each job then do the same for income then another for income potential. With 10 being the highest total up the scores then take the top two and decide. Sounds complicated but it's a way to narrow it down without emotion.
