Are These Work Shifts Legal in the State of Oregon? I'm Opening a Daycare Center...............?
Work 6:45am- 8:45am (2hrs) Break 8:45am - 8:55am (10mins) Work 8:55am - 10:45am (1hr 50mins) Break 10:45am - 12:45pm (2hrs) Work 12:45pm– 2:45pm (2hrs) Break 2:45pm-3:45pm (1hr) Work 3:45pm-5:45pm (2hrs) Work 6:45am – 10:45am (4hrs) Break 10:45am – 1:45pm (3hrs) Work 1:45pm – 5:45pm (4hrs) 10 POINTS TO BEST ANSWER!!!! You won't have any problem with the legality of the shifts, but I don't know too many people who would like those long breaks between shifts. Although if the price is right, people will work. I attached a link to the Oregon DOL wage division.

Your problem is going to be with lunch and breaks. Those are federal laws not state ones. If it is just you working then no problem. But you will definitely want to change this schedule if you are going to have employees. Also, if you're going to have employees you'll need to add workers comp and unemployment costs to your calculations.
