Question
After you authorize a purchase transaction, how long does a company have to charge your credit card?
I know someone who paid for a hotel with his credit card and they still haven't charged him for it even though he stayed there over a month ago. If they somehow "forgot" to charge him, can they do so when they realize their mistake- even if it is a year down the road? It seems like there would be some sort of statue of limitations for a situation like this. Any insight would be much appreciated!

They can do it whenever. There's no time limit.

Yup, they might charge you if they realize it later. Do the right thing, call them and get it sorted out or don't do anything at all, you might get lucky and they might not ever charge you.
