Question

what is the maximum % allowed to withold dur to garnishment?

we live in missouri, everyone keeps telling me that the maximum amount allowed to be withheld from weekly wages is 25% and 10% if they are head of household, and have dependant spouse and child... I cant find anything about that online, the only thing I find is just about the 25% but not the 10%....... another question I have is, we only owe them 1393.29 and I have already payed $100 this week, and the lady told me I still owe 1571.00???? She said thats for court cost and attorney fees??? but I have a copy of the judgement and the judgment INCLUDED the court and attny fees, and it was 1393.29 TOTAL!!!! how can they raise the amount after the judgment states:::: principal: 877.56 interest: 173.56 attry fee: 157.67 court cost: 184.50 TOTAL: 1393.29 can they do this??? the lady I talked to today said that they added on additional attorney fees in the amount of $72??? however I have a paper from them already adding that on last month, now they added it again? and 1393.29 plus 72 is not 1571. I already called the BBB,, department of labor, and wages/hours division, and the sherrifs office who issued this,, is there anything else I can do???? they are getting way more money outta me than I owe, not to mention that they are charging me 24% every month on the current balance...

25% of your net. Never heard about the 10%. They will continue to add interest also...

Unfortunately for you, there will be ongoing Court costs, interest & fees until you settle the debt....so pay it off absolutely as quickly as you can. Be as polite & amenable as you possibly can, I suspect you haven't been in the past or this would never have happened...
