just owning a website doesn't bring you ANY income - you have to have a product or service that you sell on the website and unless you are getting 10,000 visitors a DAY to your website, no one is going to pay you anything to advertise on your website

Suzanne, Yes you can own a web site and make money, dont anyone tell you different. First you need a web host. They provide all the tools you need, domain name, unlimited space, emails. And the best apps to make the website. Once you have your host you can start with adsense from google. If someone clicks you get a commission. Also look into commission junction, clickbank, maxbounty etc. You apply at these, then run ads on your website. They will all pay you where you are somehow by direct deposit or check. One of my sites is only months old, not big traffic, but it brought in $500 this week.and thats just a start Go for it.
