Question

I sold something on ebay, now what do I do?

I have my paypal account tied to ebay. I sent them a message to please paypal me the money. I haven't sold anything in years. Do I just wait for the money to show up and then when it does mail the product? Are there any pitfalls I need to watch out for. Example, can they reverse the paypal payment on me , etc. Again I haven't sold in years off ebay.

Send the buyer ebay invoice, twice or three times if necessary. If they still don't pay, tell ebay and claim unpaid item, ebay charges will be refunded. Anyhow don't ship the item before receiving the payment. And don't waste your time on non paying buyer, they might reverse their payment after they got the item. It is saver to just relist your item on ebay for other buyer.

They cannot just "reverse" a paypal transaction, they can file a claim. You would be required to provide proof of mailing, that's why it's a good idea to get delivery confirmation or signature on delivery, as well as insurance for expensive stuff. I would ship nothing until the paypal payment shows up. Make sure you only send to a CONFIRMED address, it will let you know in the receipt if it is so.

If they pay by credit card they could reverse it but there would be no reason to unless they are mean people or you did not tell all the details of the product and you won't give them a refund. Yes, you wait for the money and then mail it. Just login to your paypal account or my ebay and check the listing and see if they sent payment yet and then mail it if they did.
