What resources are there for critically ill people without health insurance?
My friend has cancer and no health insurance---her dad has been laid off for quite some time and her mom runs a small business from home. I'm afraid she's not getting as many/may have to stop treatments due to their financial situation. They don't qualify for Medicaid; are there any other resources she could possible get help from?

She should talk to the pastor of her church, and the hospital. She should also probably call social services, and the pharmeceutical company that makes the recommended chemo medications.

Contact a charity. Try Catholic Charities--they'll help you even if you aren't Catholic. And maybe you could also try to convince your community to rally around her--if the place you live is a small town or has a small town feel to it, perhaps they would help raise money for her. How old is your friend? Also, some hospitals will work things out for you. Try asking them if you can work out a payment plan. Life is precious. Your health is worth going into debt for.

There are companies who have Special Cancer Insurance. You can visit a couple of insurance companies and en quire as whether any of them insure cancer patients. This would be the only possibility. Rest all depends upon family/relative support
