Game Studios and business licenses?
My friends and I are all college students studying and aspiring to make video games for a living, and we've started making the plans to form our own studio where we can produce and get ready on a volunteer basis. We've got Articles of Organization drafted (but not submitted to anyone), a business plan and just about every detail we can think to do is done. We were wondering though, do we need a business license? We want to wait to get one until we decide to release a game, but do we need one before?

Hold off on the business license until you KNOW that you have a going business. The license will be issued by the local jurisdiction in which you plan to open your store. Some jurisdictions do not require a business license, so check into it carefully. Good Luck!
