when renters conduct a background check i was told they are looking for criminal, bankruptcy, leans and etc.?

Yeah, if you are a landlord, you definitely need to be very careful who you have in your rental properties. They can lose money if they make a wrong decision. They check into a tenants before they decide so they can see if there is a criminal history that you need to be aware of. You don't want to find out this information too late.

we call the tenant the renter. we call the property owner the landlord. criminal only. plus to see if the tenant has past judgments re non payment of rent. btw-it is called a LIEN. lean means to not stand up-right or is a type of roof; a lean-to.

Most landlords look for criminal records, court records (includes evictions, liens, judgments), credit (includes bankruptcy, judgments, late payments, etc).
