Question

What do I need to submit to the IRS annually? (UK resident unfamiliar with USA processes)?

Hi, I’m a UK resident, and in March of this year, I formed a Delaware USA incorporated company, just in case I went bankrupt in the UK (can’t be company director in the UK if bankrupt). My question is, how often and when do I need to file my company accounts? And in simple terms, how do I do this? Obviously, I know I can get an accountant, but first, I’d like to understand in simple terms what’s involved. I had a search on the internet. Am I right in thinking that every year a form 10K needs to be filled? Or is this for public companys only? What about Annual Reports? Thanks Ric

every April, u gotta file to the IRS, your income statement, balance sheet, tax forms etc since you own a business, its a lotta more complicated than just regular tax payer individuals, your company if went public, gotta have shareholder signeatures before you file. so tons of things to do, contact IRS for details.

It will all depend on how your Corporation is set up. All filing requirements should be spelled out in your charter. Taxes and/or reports are generally due annually.

You really should get in touch with a CPA or an account ASAP. They can answer any questions that you have along with asking the right questions. With that said, my concentration is mostly on the individual tax returns but I do know that you will be required to make quarterly estimated tax payments. Also, when you file your annual tax return will depend on whether you are a calander or fiscal filer. As I mentioned before a CPA or an Accountant can help you through all of this and get you set up correctly. They can help you decide whether or not setting up as a C-Corps is better or S-Corps is better. Genevieve F. --HR Block -- Tax Advisor I

For tax purposes: If you formed a C corporation and are on a calendar basis, your 1120 tax return is due March 15th of each year.
