Can anyone suggest a good small business payroll software?

My online business is really taking off; and I am about to hire my first real employee. I need a software package that can help me manage my payroll. Any suggestions on which program to use?

My church uses and highly recommends a payroll product from their bank, Bank of America. For such a small business, it should work great for you. My business uses QuickBooks and an add-on from them. We like it. Make sure you are ready for employees. Get an employee manual, try all compensation to reward the behavior you desire most. Have you read a great book for small businesses, "The eMyth Revisited?" Please do. It will help you so much. It changed my view of business.

There are several different types of payroll software and a large number of payroll software products. The different types of payroll software are differentiated mostly by their features. The products can range from the simplest payroll software that calculates payroll and taxes to the more advanced that can perform direct deposit and can communicate with existing human resources files to import and export information. When searching for the type of payroll software that is best suited for your company, you should pay attention to the special features to determine which you may need and which you may not. Because of the wide variety of products available, you should be able to get the type of payroll software that will specifically fit the needs of your business without overpaying for features you don't need.
