Question

Where can I get funding for a new store I want to open?

This business will serve a fast growing suburb here in the Sunbelt. It will be a small venture, and I must be honest; my credit is not great. I have a good record of paying bills regularly, and I have paid off all debts except for one.

Unless you are providing the bulk of the start-up funds, with great credit it is unlikely you would find traditional financing; with less than great credit, it's near impossible (actually, the "near" isn't really necessary). Best bet is to either find family to invest or, better (from my point of view) is to wait until you are in a strong financial position yourself.

If you paid your bills regularly you wouldn't have bad credit.

You might look into getting an SBA loan. I don't know what the current status is on getting loans with them but getting financing in general is tough, even for established business owners like myself.
