What are some good franchise magazine opportunities to make money?
Hi All, Does anyone know any good franchise magazines to make a lot of revenue from? I would like something that i can do locally or home based. Thanks!

Hi Dan, There's this excellent home franchise magazine that makes it easy for you to work from home. How much you make is really entirely up to you. I had a friend do this and made about 75,000 "NCI-HIRG is the largest North American publisher of local printed and online home related magazines. They distribute more than 13 million magazines each month, representing more than 650 markets in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean." Dan, Starting a magazine is a very difficult way to make a living. According to some research 90% of new magazines fail and approximately 70% fail after their first year. The last research I found on this was from 2006, before the current economic situation. As you can imagine it's even harder now to get the advertising dollars than it was then. That doesn't mean it's impossible to do, though. If you decide to do it your best bet will usually be to start some sort of niche publication that isn't currently being produced. Talk to friends and family and find out if there are trade publications for their line of business. If not, that's a good spot to at least do some research. Be aware that producing a magazine or tabloid paper is very expensive and time consuming. You will generally have expenses for editorial content, page layout, ad layout, ad sales, printing, mailing/distribution, computer hardware, software, etc... Some of these can be mitigated if you have the experience to do them yourself. Just remember that a lot of small businesses fail due to a lack of start-up finances, not necessarily a bad idea or business plan. You really should look at having at least 6-12 months of expenses covered before you start because it can sometimes take that long to start making money. If you really do your research it is possible to have a very rewarding and successful career with your own magazine or newspaper, just be ready to put in a lot of hours and a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to that point.
