Question
How do I report the company my ex husband works for, for paying it's employees under the table?
He has been evading the child support and daycare expenses he is suppose to be paying me for months now. He will pay me 100 here and there and been refusing to tell me how much he makes so I can adjust his payment. At his last job he should have been paying me 24o for child support and 220 for half of day care. (This is according to our divorce: Monthy is 1% of his annual income and day care is half.) He owns me close to 2500 in back child support and care. I told him I was going to take him to court twice one for garnishing him monthly and one for garnishing him for the past. He just laughed and said good luck because his aunt was paying him under the table. He is now not even sending me anything ever. My question is, how do I report his aunt. I know it is cruel to her, but it's her fault for breaking the law in the first place. I just need to take care of my son. That's my only concern. I'm not quite sure were to post this. I'm going to put it in a few categories. Some may be a little off. I'm sorry. I also would love some suggestions on were I should post this to get better answers if I've chosen wrong. PS Rude people just pass this up. No one want s to hear your venting. Tony: Yes I'm looking for a lot of options. Legal Advice takes a long time to get any results. I just want to get through as much as I can until my appointment. THe more options I try, the better my results will be. (I have an appointment with an attorney, but as you know they still make you do a lot of the leg work, such as finding out about illegal employment etc. Just covering all my bases as fast as I can.)

Get all the information together (their address, business name, etc.) and phone the Dept. of Revenue. They'll direct you to the right office on the phone. You can talk to someone there. Be aware that anyone who reports something like this also has their own tax returns looked at. But since it's in your favor, go ahead and do it.

If his aunt has a valid tax ID number, you can go to your state's DOR (Dept of Revenue) and file a claim for garnishment of wages against your ex. However, it also depends on whether your ex is legally working there. Your aunt may be paying him out of pocket for work he's doing - but it's my understanding that he should be on payroll after three months of doing that job. (long term vs. temporary employee) Since I don't know what state you're in, I would ask that you do a little more legwork first and talk to a lawyer. They can check how much he's earned using his social security number and then file the appropriate actions in court. May I also take a moment to ask why you would post the same question in other places? Seems to me you're looking for a bunch of opinions instead of seeking legal advice. The sooner you do it, the sooner you and your son can be taken care of appropriately. Good luck.

If you suspect the law is being broken, you may or may not be able to get the police involved without presenting irrefutable evidence. Most likely, not! However, you could probably acquire such evidence with the help of a private eye. Obviously, that could get expensive. Your only recourse, as I see it, would be to hire a divorce settlement lawyer (also likely expensive, but you should look into it), or try to contact the court that decided the case and see if you have any recourse through them. You should be able to present something tangible (even if only your estimates and calculations) to anyone you go to, in order to get them to believe this case is worth their sweat.
