ford trucks
Question
16 Year old Illinois Insurance Rates?
Im 16 now, and i may be buying a truck soon. Its a 1994 Ford f-150. Im trying to find where the cheapest rates are. I only want liability insurance because im short on $$$$$. Im not doing so hot in school so that will raise my rates a bit, but what would be my best bet and finding insurance? Im expecting to pay a lot. Im just looking for the cheapest companys to get quotes from..

Go to progressive.com They can give you quotes for other companies as well and generally speaking they are the least expensive for young drivers. If you only want liability insurance you will need to pay for the truck outright. Anything that you have a loan on requires physical insurance as well. Once you have had continuous insurance for at least a year and a good driving record I would shop around again because many other companies offer better discounts to drivers who have been continuously insured than does Progressive, but Progressive is generally the best starter.

If you are a boy, you'll get hosed anywhere you go. Expect to pay hundreds a month, just for liability.

Well, i would go with a good company not the cheapest because they may not give you a good rate or the policy itself. Go with state farm, thats what i have. If you do good in school B or A honor roll you will get 22 % and state farm has a discount where if you record where you drive and how many hours they give you a precentage off. Good Luck and drive safe!

There's no "one size fits all" cheapest. But most companies won't even write a policy to a newly licensed driver. There's no shortcut - you'll have to call around to see who's cheapest for you. HOWEVER. You're probably going to end up with Progressive, Infinity, Geico, or Windsor, or your state assigned risk fund.

I think Geico and progressive are a good option, try this site quoteinsurance ... here you can get quotes from different companies so you can compare them.

I live in suburban Chicago area and in my mid 20s and female, and I am paying about $700 a year. I do not have the minimum legal insurance in Illinois because it doesn't cover enough. My guess is that it'll have to be over $1000. Go to an insurance agent and talk with them. If you can go through your parent's insurance, you'll get a discount.
