How do I Market Myself as an Organizational Coach?
I'd like to start up a side business as an organizational coach. I want to help people organize their space and/or gain time management skills. I have been reading a lot and have lots of great ideas, but I don't know how to get started. I have placed a few ads on craigslist, but haven't gotten any responses. I would be willing to start helping a few people for free to get going and start some word-of-mouth marketing. Any other ideas?? Thank you!

With that said the economy is bad and the home furnishings and home decor business has taken one of the hardest beatings with no bailout. I owned a furniture store for five years and sold it off shortly before the real estate market crashed. Most of my competition and half my vendors are now out of business. I have two points of advice in your situation. Start your business on the smallest scale possible right now think of it as a part time gig. I also think owning a business is 1/3 knowledge and experience 1/3 timing and 1/3 luck. Your timing and luck may not be as good in a bad economy. Start small and keep your overhead low until things drastically improve. Home organization is truly a luxury and not a necessity for most people. Definitely, a limited market.
