Question
What is the best way to address deceptive advertising for a consumer product?
I recently purchased a new Gateway laptop. On their website, they advertised (with both text and images) that their NV series had Bluetooth. Photos of their keyboards showed a Bluetooth key, and there is also a LED for Bluetooth. However, there were NO models showing Bluetooth in the specs. I ordered one anyway, wondering if it was an omission. But after receiving it, even with the keys and indicators, had technical support confirm that it was not installed on this model. The website mentions NOTHING regarding Bluetooth being on select models in the NV series. Tech support can't help, and sales is a dead end (all sales are now with retailers.) It's not a deal-breaker, but I want to address it with someone. Any ideas? This seems like such a bait-and-switch tactic.
