100% scam. They'll tell the check is for the taxes you owe, ask you to cash the check and send the money to their special IRS agent via Western Union. Absolutely NO taxing authority accepts payments that way. And if they did the name would be Department of the Treasury, not Joe Blow. Later this check bounces and you will owe the bank the entire amount.

It's a rip-off. Please read: www ... It's a scam...just like the other poster says. Don't send ANYONE money via WESTERN UNION because they ask you to. When the check you cash bounces, you are going to have to pay that money back to the bank and you will also be out the money you sent via Western Union.....

In addition to Vita's suggestion of contacting the AG, you should also contact the company to let them know.
